I love to sew! It is always a great feeling, being able to design a dress and bring it to life.
When it comes to my finances I will spend more on art supplies (paints, paper, brushes…) than on sewing supplies. I draw and paint much more than I sew.
I need to try to find more time to sew as I really want to master menswear. There are six things I have planned to buy this year, so that I will be able to do more sewing projects.
Here is my sewing wish list
1. Lincraft Dress Model – Small
This dress mannequin retails at Lincraft for $199 AUD (member price $149 AUD). It features 12 dials to adjust body contours. You can adjust between the following measurements: Bust (84-100 cm), Waist (64-80 cm), and Hips (86-102 cm).
2. Printed Sewing Machine Trolley Bag (Floral Black)
This trolley bag retails at Lincraft for $79 AUD (member price $49 AUD). It features an adjustable handle, pockets for supplies and an area for your sewing machine. Size is 47 x 38 x 24 cm. I really need a new one as my case is worn out. I love trolley bags as they are great to take your sewing machine to workshops and sewing classes.
3. Lincraft Dressmaker Scissors
These bronze (273 mm) scissors retail at Lincraft for $49 AUD (member price $29 AUD). It states on the website that the scissors glide through fabric and are great for dressmaking. Which is important for me as I love to sew dresses and shirts mainly.
4. 5th Edition Metric Pattern Cutting for Menswear (by Winifred Aldrich)
The first edition of this book was published in 1980. I have the 5th Edition Metric Pattern Cutting for Women’s Wear (see blog post here to read more). I have been wanting to get this menswear book for a long time now, so will make sure I get it soon this year. I just love how easy to follow these books are and the illustrations are wonderful. Very helpful and useful. This book retails for $39.95 AUD at Booktopia.
5. Linnmon / Alex Table
This table retails for $185 AUD at IKEA. Size is 150 x 75 cm. I think it will be useful for my pattern drafting, sewing and for my studies (and editing videos when I start my YouTube channel ❤ ❤ ) It is a nice and simple table that will be easy to keep clean and tidy.
6. Flintan Swivel Chair
This office chair retails for $99 AUD at IKEA. It states on their website that you can lean back and have perfect balance, and that it has a tilt tension mechanism that automatically adjusts the resistance to suit your weight. Sounds like a good chair for me and it fits within my budget. It looks comfy enough too 🙂 🙂
So that is my sewing wish list. I may purchase some extra things. I know that I do need to get a new overlocker, I just have not decided on which one yet. I loved creating this wish list. I think I will make a beauty one next time.
Thank you so much for reading. Have a great day!

I always regret how much time is limited! I now have started dancing more and going to the fitness and I’m happy to get back to drawing again. I’ve always wanted to learn sewing, but I don’t think it fits into my life now. I once bought a book with all the iconic dresses, but that’ll be for in the future haha! xoxo Sarah

You’ll be starting YouTube?? How exciting!! I love watching YouTube so do let me know when you start it!
I have a dress form (also red) similar to the one you pictured. It’s definitely useful. The menswear book is great too though I don’t quite use it as much as the womenswear one!
