Log Horizon and The Boy & the Beast – NOVELS

I always find myself attracted to stories of adventure and fantasy.

Books, comics or manga, I love all types. My favourite type to read is manga, I have not really ever read manga graphic novels. When I think about it, the only graphic novel I have read before would be Watchmen by Alan Moore.

Maybe I have read other graphic novels, just cannot remember since it is not my style. I am not too sure if Log Horizon by Mamare Touno will come under graphic novel (maybe not since it has a little amount of pictures throughout the novel).

I have just started reading these two novels. Both are very interesting so far. I am particularly drawn to Log Horizon.

Log Horizon by Mamare Touno

I am really enjoying this novel. It is about Japanese gamers (thirty thousand of them) who awaken and discover the world of Elder Tales. It is similar to Sword Art Online (one of my favourite anime/manga), in the way that the game is their reality, they have to fight monsters and can die. I really love this novel so far.

The Boy & the Beast by Mamaru Hosoda

The title of this novel makes me think of Beauty and the Beast (the Disney movie, which reminds me, I am so excited for the live action movie this month!). It is about a boy named Ren who falls into the world of Jutengai. He gets given a new name Kyuta and also a new life learning how to use a sword as an apprentice of a bear named Kumatetsu. It has been a really fun novel to read so far.
