Having dreams is a natural part of life. We each want to figure out our purpose and do it with passion every day. Goals keep us motivated. Dreams can also include goals that we want to complete within our lifetime. A bucket list is a list of things that one wants to complete before they pass on ❤
Anything goes on the list. It could be something as simple as learning to ride a bike, as you may have not had the chance to when you were a child or it may be something thrilling like going sky diving (something I need to do). Your bucket list will include things that you want to do. You are the only person who decides what goes on that list as you are living your life.
Yes, we must be respectful to our loved ones in our life but we need to do things for ourselves at times. There is no point living a life where you are constantly going to work and doing everything for others but yourself. You deserve to live your best life and create beautiful memories. Your bucket list is for you. It is up to you if you want to include anyone to participate in some of the goals on there 🙂
Most people like to look at their bucket list as a lifetime goals list. I prefer to create a new one every decade. So since we are in 2020 my current list will last until the end of 2029. I like doing it this way as life is unpredictable. No one wants to think of the unexpected but it is good to live for now and not plan too far ahead. Believing that you have a lifetime to do everything is naive. Your best moments are always in the present 😀
Appreciate every passing day. It is a gift to wake up every morning, sleep in your bed, have food within your home, be able to shower and be within your thoughts. It is a gift to be yourself. I am thankful every day for my life and my loved ones. Yes, life has its challenging moments. Some which can push you into despair but there is always light at the end of the tunnel. We are strong and can overcome any obstacles that come our way.
Start writing your decade bucket list now. You do not have to have 100 things on it. It could be 5 or 10. I have 20 on my list and know that I can complete at least two each year. Remember that it does not have to be complicated. You may have wanted for the longest time to try salted caramel fudge ice cream in a waffle cone from a lovely ice cream parlour where you live. Write it down on your list.
You may have some confronting things that you want to do like have a conversation with a loved one that is conflicting or apologise to a person which was needed to be done a while ago. Having a decade bucket list puts a time frame on needing to have everything ticked off before the end of the decade. It is motivating and better done within a decade than cramming it to be done near the end of your life. Plus it makes every decade extra exciting as you get to have a new list. Yay for new experiences! 😀
