Being likable is something that people seek. Naturally we want others to like us. It is not so much for who we are but what they see before them. This can cause some to be prone to putting a false front ❤
No one wants to be rejected. Whether it is by their partner, family, friends or someone who they come into contact with. Rejection can hurt, especially when you are putting your best foot forward. To avoid rejection we tend to analyse a person, say something that we believe will make them like us and then keep portraying this likable character.
However, it is something that you can only do for so long. A personality that is not actually yours will eventually crack. The truth always comes out. When you spend plenty of time with another person, their real self appears with time. It can be in bits, here and there or outburst all of a sudden. This is when you will like them more or want to run for the hills.
The same can apply to yourself. Let’s say your heart is kind and you are a quiet person who is peaceful. If you start interacting with a person who is unkind and outspoken, and you reflect the same behaviours to them. A relationship will be formed on false beginnings. Not only is it wrong to lie about who you are by presenting this false image. This unkind version of you will eat away at who you truly are ❤
You need to be true to yourself. Otherwise pretending to be someone who is opposite of your personality can cause you to lose your identity. This is going against your core values. Every person on our lovely planet has their own beliefs and values that are true for them. Going against them can cause you to change for the worse. You may develop into an unkind person if you continue this way.
We are all constantly changing. Having new experiences and forming different relationships can influence the way we grow. It is best to spread kindness, love and not judge others. You can meet someone new, form a friendship and if there behaviours make you feel uneasy, you can let them know how you feel. If they choose not to change for the better, you do not have to continue to be friends with them 🙂
Your life is yours. You need to decide which relationships are good for you and which ones you can do without. To stay true to who you are, surround yourself with people who believe in kindness, love and are willing to change. No one is perfect but we can change to improve. Love yourself and life. Aim to be as peaceful as you can with your life.
