Forgiveness is freeing. When we forgive someone it frees us from the pain of carrying any angry, sadness or disappointment. To forgive means to accept what has happened, as there is no changing what is done and that we can move forward by letting go of the pain ❤
There is no reason why any person should let what another being has done to them, define who they are or ruin the rest of their life. We are all human beings, people make mistakes and bad decisions. Yes, it can be disappointing and contribute to anger when someone does us wrong but we have to always remember that they are their own person. They have their own mind and sense of self.
Only they can control themselves, as we can only control ourselves. We all think differently. Even those who have the same values and beliefs can have different perspectives when looking at a situation. If it is raining, one may think the day is going to be bad, another will think it is a great day for the plants in their garden to grow. Can you see how in a simple situation one can be sad and the other happy?
Yet, the one who believes rain is great for the garden and is happy, probably thinks that many appreciate the same perspective. However, it could be that many are sad because it is raining. How do you feel when you know it is going to rain? Does it ruin your day or are you still happy? Often at times people can think that situations and other people can make their emotions come out of them.
The truth is that no one can make you angry, sad or happy. Yes, people can do things that influence you to react but it is you who decides what your reaction is going to be. When someone tells you a joke, before you laugh you quickly think to yourself what your understanding of the joke is and then you laugh. You do not just automatically laugh. Whatever thoughts come to your mind, they are in your control 🙂
Free yourself of any attachments, especially ones where you are poisoning yourself. Forgiveness is truly freeing. When you forgive, you choose to let that situation or person no longer influence your thoughts. You stop thinking about the stories of how they hurt you. You instead believe you are strong and have better things to think about. Choose to forgive and live your best life.
Love yourself and life. Appreciate who you are. Get lost in your passions and set goals that will keep you moving forward. Keep your heart strong and kind. Do not let any circumstances cause you to believe things are bad and that you should be unkind. Always spread love and kindness. Forgive for yourself, be free and keep going for your dreams.
