Material things are what we love to decorate our homes with. We can take pride in the placement of our furniture, photo frames and documents of achievements. There can be many material items that we purchase over the years, some of which were unnecessary to get in the first place ❤
It feels good to buy things for ourselves. Whether you made a purchase to reward yourself for your hard work or just felt like buying it. In the moment is great, when the product arrives it can be super exciting and then as the days pass, that is when you start to realise if you are getting much use out of the item or not. Regret is never a nice feeling, especially when you have spent money that could have been put to better use.
Do you appreciate all of the belongings in your home? The ones that are yours, do you use them on a regular basis? Clothes can be a main thing that many people can find hard to buy less of. Over the years, fast fashion and advertising has made it cheaper to purchase the latest clothes that are trending at low prices. Yes, we have all purchased some trendy item at some point, that more than likely did not suit us.
I have found with time, that I think more about how much use I will get out of an item before I purchase it. I am careful with my money, set a budget and check to make sure that I am not purchasing something the I already own. Appreciating and being thankful for everything that I have makes me feel both happy and incredibly blessed. It is not because material things make me happy. I am happy as I have worked hard for all that I have, and also the use that I get out of my belongings brings me joy 😀
My art supplies are dear to me. I love them so much, without them I would have nothing to create art with. I am thankful for each of my art supplies, from my coloured pencils to the different types of paper. Stationery gets me excited as I love writing and drawing a lot. Simply standing in a stationery store gives me butterflies lol. This week I am going to go through my belongings and donate anything that I no longer need to local charities ❤
Thank you so much for reading! Take a look around your bedroom and home to see what you have which you no longer use. Donate to those in need. By giving to someone else, you can really help someone out. If you do not already, learn to be thankful for what you have. Ensure that everything has a purpose. When you are grateful for what you have, you will attract more wonderful opportunities into your life. Embrace gratitude everyday. Have a joyful day!
