What do you enjoy doing the most? Reading, running or maybe painting. We all have passions that we like to spend time on. With your passions, are you wanting to become better at them or are you happy with the level of skill that you currently have? Learning more is not for everyone but it is good for your mind, so why not give it a go 😀
Yes, people can often want more for little effort. We may see someone else doing better at something that we are doing too. It can be disheartening and make you feel down. Questioning, “why can’t I have a level of skill like that?”. Asking this question causes frustration, jealously and annoyance. Each of which are unnecessary as they will just cause you pain. Questions like this are what we need to avoid ❤
A better question to ask is, “they can do it, so I can too. How do I get to that skill level?”. This way of thinking is positive, making you feel as though you can obtain such a goal and work on figuring out ways to get there. Jealously particularly has no benefits, as comparison is the thief of joy. If you keep comparing yourself to someone who you believe has what you want, you will just feel terrible about yourself.
Instead of focusing your energy on what others have, put that energy into yourself. This is important, as time spent dwelling over someone else’s achievements can be better put into helping you achieve your goals and dreams. Yes, there are times when it is difficult to avoid comparison as we want to be the best in all that we do. However, we need to understand that there is room for everyone on our lovely planet to be successful with their passions 🙂
No one is taking anything away from you, whether they share the same interests or not. The effort that we put into something is what we are going to get back. A book will not sell if no one knows about it, a painting will not be completed if it is half painted and a social media platform cannot grow if the content creator is only posting photos and not putting effort into the relationship with their audience. It is not that you have to be all or nothing, you just need to do your very best – which you most definitely know what that is ❤
So what can you do to better expand on your existing skills. If you enjoy creating art, try going to an art workshop. Do your best to find a craft that is new to you. So if you are into painting and drawing, try pottery, making jewellery or cake decorating. You will gain knowledge and may be able to combine your new found skills with the existing ones, inspiring new ideas for your art.
If you enjoy baking, you could try cooking more often and try out new recipes. Learning recipes from different cultures can be great as you get to enjoy amazing food, while learning about wonderful people around the world. I love tying different foods and love people of different cultures. It is nice to learn of new things and different ways of life. The key is to just be you, keep learning and avoid comparing yourself to others ❤
Today on my YouTube channel I am sharing with you a red and white buildings near a park, monochrome acrylic painting. I have been enjoying painting these a lot more than I expected to. I am going to continue to paint many other single colour paintings to keep challenging myself. Red tones are graceful and blend beautifully together. Monochrome paintings make you think in a different way, as you need to be careful to not blend the painting into one big red colour 🙂
I hope you enjoy the video. Thank you so much for reading and watching! Do your best to get out of your comfort zone and try something related to your passions. Avoid comparing yourself to others. We are all on our own journey in life. Each unique and important. Enjoy the journey and keep putting in the effort to achieve your dreams. Have a great day!
