When things do not go according to plan it can be super frustrating. Like your world is falling a part. It hurts the most when you know that you have done everything you possibly could and in the end, it still did not work out. Life has a funny way of challenging us, making us jump through hoops from time to time ❤

It really is a terrible feeling giving your very best effort into a goal, your work or a relationship (basically any important area of your life) and have it not work out, even the smallest bit. We like to think that if we are doing all we should (and beyond at times), that everything will be fine. However, life does not always go according to plan as the only actions we can predict are our own.

You can only control what you do. You can choose to think a certain way, do particular things and be who it is that you believe you are. When it comes to circumstances in general and other people, you cannot control them. If the weather wants to rain on a day that you need it to be sunny, it will rain. If your partner does not want to go to an important family gathering, they will not go. Nothing can be shifted at your command and it never should be.

Life is a beautiful gift that many of us can take for granted, especially when we are frustrated with things not going our way. It is not there for us to control. Instead, we need to adapt to the changes that happen to us along the way, with of our journey in life. Yes, its not always going to feel good. Yes, there will be times when you may want to curl up into a ball and just cry. It is normal to go through different emotions. What is important is that we keep being resilient and let nothing hold us down 🙂

Being resilient means to get back up every time you fall. Not only to pick yourself up but to come back stronger. Resilience is to cook again even though you had previously burnt your hand, to fall in love again after having your heart broken, to keep auditioning for roles despite all of the bad experiences from rejections, and to keep working towards your dreams even if someone close to you, does not believe in you. Overall, it is having that belief in ourselves, that we can do anything and we will not stop going for our dreams no matter what.

It is a good idea to keep a journal, that you can note down your daily thoughts into. As whenever you have any ideas, you can put them in there to refer back to and it is truly therapeutic pouring out your current feelings on paper. When we are going through tough times, we tend to bottle up our feelings, especially when we do not have someone else to talk to. Being expressive is a part of being human, as is communication and sometimes we need that time to communicate with ourselves 😀

Always remember that you cannot control the things that happen around you but you can control yourself. Think about the thoughts that come into your mind. It can be hard to look into when we are in a lot of pain or very frustrated but when we take the chance to breathe, it is a good moment to take a look at ourselves in the mirror. In order to achieve anything, we need to have a strong, positive mindset, that guides us with good thoughts. As what we put out into the world, always comes back to us. So let’s keep having happy thoughts 🙂

Today on my YouTube channel I am sharing with you a cute chibi girl sitting on the floor, coloured pencil drawing. She appears to be frustrated, as we all have both bad and good days. We are now on day 20 of my #drawingdailytofightcoronavirus challenge. I will keep doing this until we beat coronavirus. Let’s keep our minds happy, positive and strong.
