Every person on our lovely planet has gifts to offer to the world. We are each needed to contribute and help our society flourish as best it can. Some may believe they do not have anything that can be of use to others. The thing is, we all have something to give, you just may have not discovered it yet ❤
Think about all of the things that you feel you have great skills in. Is it a skill that you use at work or in your personal life? Maybe you use it in both? Skills can include drawing, sales, cooking, writing, running and customer service. Do you notice some familiar skills that you have from that list? I feel that many of us can doubt the skills that we have.
Some may realise they have skills but do not count them as a talent as they are common skills, the type that you expect people to learn. Just take a look at customer service. We have all provided customer service to some extent. Especially in a working environment. Customer service is a common skill as it is needed to have a successful business. It is what help keeps customers coming back for more 😀
Customer service is to serve and meet the customers needs. In a way, you may provide these skills at home to those that you live with. Such as making dinner for your family, considering who has dietary requirements, what type of food everyone likes and how you are going to present it to them. We always want to put our best foot forward and especially impress those that we deeply care about. Taking all of those concerns into consideration shows that many of us provide customer service when we are at home too 🙂
How good you become at any skill is entirely up to you. We each need to understand that our style and pace of learning will be different to another person. They may learn a certain skill faster than you, as you may faster than them. How quickly you learn can depend on many factors such as how much time you are putting into learning the skill, what are current skills that you already have that may help you learn new ones and what style of learning are you using to gain the skill?
When you can accept that time does not matter, in the sense of how long it takes to gain a skill, you will be able to focus 100 percent on learning. As if we dwell on the why is it taking too long to achieve, it can put focus on the negatives and take up a lot of time and energy. Doing this can be mentally draining and will just prolong how long it will take you to get good at the skill.
It is helpful to figure out what your learning style is. You can do an online search to find a free learning style test, to work out what the best way is for you to learn. The different type of learning styles are visual – seeing the skill in action/learning from watching, auditory – listening to how a skill should be done/achieved, reading/writing – learning about the skill by reading and taking notes while learning and kinesthetic – that is basically learning on the job/physically performing the skill. Your learning style may be one or a combination of these. I highly recommend finding out which learner type you are 🙂
Today on my YouTube channel I am sharing with you a lovely chibi girl reading a book, coloured pencil drawing. She looks to be very happy reading her book. It is now up to day 19 of my #drawingdailytofightcoronavirus challenge. I am completing this until we beat coronavirus. Let’s keep our minds busy, by doing the things we love and learning something new each day. Keep staying healthy, be safe and practice social distancing. Stay home so that we can continue to reduce the chance of spreading coronavirus (COVID-19) ❤
I hope you enjoy the video. Thank you so much for reading and watching! Please know that you have the ability to learn anything that you want to learn. If you have always wanted to learn an instrument, do it! If you have always wanted to learn how to draw, do it! You are smarter than you think. Believe in yourself and strive for your own success. Have a happy day!
