It is that wonderful chocolate time of the year! Easter eggs, chocolate, marshmallows, hot chocolate, yummy treats and hot cross buns. All so delicious. I love Easter very much. Not that it is the only time of the year that I indulge in chocolate haha. There is Christmas for that too. To be honest I eat chocolate more than I should. I do my best to reduce my intake but can be so hard 😀
Easter time is pretty much an excuse for me to eat lots of chocolate. Of course, as a kid I would want to eat heaps of it. Children seem to be bottomless pits when it comes to sweets. Nowadays I cannot eat as much in one go but it does not mean that I cannot have a little every day. I have come to realise that the older I get, the more I love dark chocolate than the usual kind. Every now and then, I enjoy white chocolate but sometimes it can be too sweet.
Now, I have a question for you. Do you prefer chocolate or lollies? (you may call them sweets or candy – it is called lollies in New Zealand). I have always been more of a chocolate person. I do enjoy lollies too, particularly sour ones. Also, candyfloss is one of my favourites to have. I actually want candyfloss right now. I have not had any since Oz Comic Con, I believe. That’s far too long!
When I have candyfloss, it reminds me of going to the movies with family and friends. We would get popcorn, candyfloss and frozen yoghurt. This was back in my hometown, in New Zealand. There was a cute dessert store downstairs from the cinema and they sold frozen yoghurt. What made this dessert extra amazing was that you could add sherbet on top (if you have not had it like this, please try, you will love it!). It was amazing!
I love candyfloss so much, that I really should learn how to make it. I know it is not good for you but sometimes you have to enjoy little things like this. Life is about living your best life. We are allowed to enjoy some things that are not good for us, as long as we are not hurting anyone, it is all good. I feel that some people can obsess a bit too much over their health, you know, be all or nothing when it comes to food. It is up to you how you want to treat your body. For myself, balance is key – eat extra good foods, have a few bad ones here and there ❤
You may have noticed that I have not been talking about coronavirus as much for the past four or five days, maybe more. I am not ignoring the unfortunate situation. I just feel for your own mental health (as well as my own) we need to ease our mind with our passions. Still, I have been keeping up-to-date with the news and it is awful with how the virus is still spreading; taking more lives everyday.
Please do your best to take some time for yourself and enjoy your Easter. I know that we are all in pain at the moment. Some having more pain than others but we need to continue to be strong, take care of our mental health and live our lives. Of course, our lives are not normal at the moment. Yet, we still need to set a day-to-day routine for ourselves to stay sane through all of this chaos. Keep communicating with others from a distance. We have to be there for each other and get through this together.
Today on my YouTube channel I am sharing with you a coloured pencil drawing of an Easter Bunny laying on top of cute Easter eggs. Such an adorable rabbit with cute teeth. It is now day 11 of my #drawingdailytofightcoronavirus challenge, that I am continuing to draw each day until we beat coronavirus. Please continue to stay home and practice social distancing, even through Easter time. Let’s all stay safe, keep our distance from each other and communicate online from afar ❤
I hope you enjoy the video. Thank you so much for reading and watching! Keep being strong, although it is hard at the moment. With each day that passes, we need to keep our hope alive. We will get through this together and never give up. Stay safe and healthy. Have a wonderful day!
