Purple dark skies at night. The moonlight comforts the glistening skin of the water. It is peaceful… quiet you may say as no one is nearby but you. The waves of the ocean lightly touch the sand of the sleeping beach, as if the ocean is unsure to get your attention. Do you feel scared being alone, outside at night on your own?
Isolation is not for everyone. For some it is heaven on earth, for others not so much – it may drive them insane. Human beings are strange, each unique in their own way… unpredictable at times. Yes, we tend to say one thing and do another. Distractions come and minds can change. I am sure there are people who occasionally joke that it would great to live alone or it would be nice to have made different choices, that may have resulted in them having more free time to themselves.
It feels good to be heard. To tell someone about our day, what is going on with our life and talk about the exciting things happening to us. Although there is a need for communication, there is also a need for retreat. Time to ones self to relax and remember who it is we are. Everyone craves peace and quiet from time to time. If we had no time alone, it may cause us to lose our identity, feel stressed and overwhelmed ❤
Now, going back to being alone at night at the beach (not that you would be but let’s just imagine). Could you handle it?… Maybe for a night or two max?… How about months? That would be too scary. I would need at least an animal friend of some sort. An owl or a pig maybe haha. The surrounding nature is something that I could appreciate but I would never want to be alone. I guess I could always make a doll out of sticks and talk to it. Is that kind of insanity acceptable due to such circumstances? It is ok, either way it’s just me being creative I swear lol.
Ok Capili, so where are you going with this? Well, I am not comparing our homes too being alone on a beach at night (ok, I am)… Let’s start that sentence again… I just want to get you thinking about what it would be like to actually be alone. No other person in sight. Many of us are currently quarantined in our homes right now (COVID-19 for reference to future readers). We have our bed, belongings, food and more importantly people in our lives 😀
If you live alone, you still have a neighbour. If you live rural or on a mountain (that would be amazing by the way – my dream house location), you know that there are people in the closest town. The overall point is that people need people. No one wants to truly be alone, even if they say that they do. We need human interaction with others, even if it is once a month because if no one talks to us, do we actually exist? Arguably life’s greatest gift is to experience love ❤
In order to love and be loved we need another being in our life to share the love with. Someone to listen to our stories, be there for when we are unhappy or unwell and to confide in, sharing all of our secrets. Being human is a blessing, a wonderful gift as love is great. We are strong, survivors of dark moments in time and can get through any challenge that comes our way. Together we can do anything!
Today on my YouTube channel I am sharing with you a mystical acrylic painting. It is of a beautiful tree with red leaves overlooking the ocean from afar. The sky is a fiery reddish-purple colour, accompanied by a bright full-moon. In the darkest of times, we need to see the beauty and light. Never give up hope 🙂
I hope you enjoy the video. Thank you so much for reading and watching! Keep doing your best to stay healthy and strong. Feed your mind good thoughts, do something that you enjoy at home and ensure that you are getting plenty of wonderful sleep. Have a nice day!
