Flowers have a natural calming effect, making you feel relaxed and at ease. It is a peaceful feeling, allowing you to stand still for a moment in time, to take in the beauty and grace of a flower 🌻
The sunflower is a joyous flower. Rising tall, with inviting leaves that look as if they are reaching for a hug. They are such happy and inviting flowers. Sunflowers are native to both North America and South America. Native Americans revealed that sunflowers could help with chest pains. It is beautiful how nature has many ways to heal us and our lovely planet ❤
These majestic beings can grow up to 16 feet tall, so they need plenty of room to spread their loving arms. Especially, since they reach for the sun to absorb they lovely rays of sunshine. The tallest sunflower was noted in Germany, by the Guinness World Records in 2014, measuring at 9.17 m (30f 1in) tall. That is amazing! Imagine walking through a field of 30 feet tall sunflowers. You would feel like a fairy lol (see Steampunk Fairy drawing post here).
I wanted to share with you a wonderful – simple, easy, step by step guide to drawing a kawaii sunflower, since it has been quite some time sharing photo drawing tutorials here on my blog. I will be releasing a photo tutorial each week on my blog for other types of flowers, and we will continue to turn other things kawaii once we have completed this flower series 🙂
6 Simple Steps to draw a Kawaii Sunflower
Step 1 – Using a black coloured pencil draw a circle (it does not have to be perfectly round haha).
Step 2 – Draw each of the pointy triangle-like petals around the circle as pictured above.
Step 3: Draw the pickle-shaped stalk from the bottom-centre of the sunflower head and a triangle-like leaf (just like the petals) on each side of the stalk. Add a curved line in each leaf as pictured above.
Step 4: Draw two circles for the eyes, with three circles in each eye (this gives happy light to our sunflowers eyes). Add two little triangle bits for the inner corner of the eyes. Draw a horseshoe-shape mouth and add three lines on each side (for blush cuteness).
Step 5: Draw some adorable eyebrows to add further personality to your lovely sunflower and a mitten hand on each side (for added cheekiness).
Step 6: Yay! The fun final step is to colour in your kawaii sunflower. Choose whatever colours you want. Have fun! ❤ 😀
