We are all different. Unique in our own ways. Each individual has their own path in life that they choose to take. You may think your path is similar to someone else’s path who has a common goal with you. Although they have the same goal as you, their path will still not be exactly like your own ❤
The path an individual chooses is not simple and it is not in a straight line. There are side paths that can take one on a detour away from the common goal and will eventually lead back to the main path; and there are other side paths that may lead the individual to make a life changing choice that will cause them to move away from their original goal and choose a new main goal (e.g. the goal may have been to be an artist and has now changed to be a vet).
Let’s say a persons ultimate goal in life is to be an author. As I mentioned the path is not straight but I will explain it as simple as possible. The main goal path is ‘to be an author’. The side paths in life could be ‘deciding on a genre to write about’, ‘to traditionally publish or self-publish?’ or ‘whether to intern at a media company or not?’. If a side path is taken, it may lead back to the main goal or instead it may spark a new main goal in mind for the person to decide if they would like to change their main path in life 😀
So, they decide they would like to explore different genres – horror, romance, fantasy etc. Romance is the winner for them. They research and practice writing romance. This side path leads straight back to the main path in life of wanting to be an author. Let’s now say that they decide to intern at a media company, they complete various tasks through the months of interning while still writing as a hobby on the side. As an intern they get to know people in the marketing department and help out. Then release they would love to work in marketing instead of being an author – can you see where I’m going with this?
Yes, there are endless choices and outcomes. We more than likely could list them forever lol. This is a good thing but also a not so good thing haha. You see, having many choices in life can make a person indecisive as they may be confused as to which side path they should choose, and when they have chosen one it could lead to discovering more passions that may cause one to question their main goal in life. Tricky right?
It is a great thing that life does not have to be all that complicated – although we tend to do it with our overthinking and indecisiveness. All we need to do is be more welcoming towards the opportunities that come towards us. Instead of letting them pass by, say yes to doing as many as possible until you have a clearer vision of the steps (side paths) you need to take in order to get closer to achieving your main goal in life ❤
Trust in yourself and in the universe. Be confident in your choices. Do not be afraid to fail as you are going to make not one or ten mistakes, there are going to be so many that you will not be able to count them all. It is good to make mistakes (although painful at times), as they teach us lessons and help us get stronger. Shaping us into stronger, smarter and confident people. Educating us to becoming a master at our craft – often we do not realise this until someone points out that we are an expert at a particular skill.
Today on my YouTube channel I am sharing with you a water colour painting of some beautiful blue butterflies being happy on a tree. A butterfly is amazing how it goes from a little caterpillar in search of food, eating enough to then spin itself into a cocoon and then transform over two weeks into a magnificent being – a butterfly. We can each transform into the best versions of ourselves. Learn to be confident in your choices and believe in yourself 🙂
I hope you enjoy the video. Thank you so much for reading and watching! Know that you have the ability to do whatever it is you want in life. Keep moving forward and believe that you will get there. You are strong, smart and amazing. Have a beautiful day!
