Kiwi’s are the cutest flightless bird. Covered in beautiful soft feathers with a big body, the tiniest head and a long needle-like beak. The kiwi is actually quite funny looking when you think about the proportions.
Even with an odd figure like that, the kiwi does manage to balance and walk around gracefully. Most likely due to their big supportive bird feet. You will find them in New Zealand usually at night as they are nocturnal beings. Just like owls sleeping all day to be active during the night, the Kiwi does this too.
There are many beautiful birds in New Zealand, this includes the Fantail, Tui and Kea. They each sing beautifully in the trees and can be found in forrests, hiking tracks and rural areas. Every time I go to New Zealand I love to see and hear the birds. Nature always makes me feel my best 🙂
I was born and raised in a small city in the North Island of New Zealand (which would be a town compared to cities in Australia). A city with a population of under 90,000 people. Basically a place where everyone knows someone who will be connected to you in some way. It only takes a 10 to 15 minute drive to get from one side of the city to the other.
Growing up in a small city was great as I was surround by nature. There are many parks, places to hike and nearby rivers to swim in (only a short drive away). Having much nature around me, made me appreciate life and animals more. New Zealand is a stunning country and if you have not been yet, you definitely need to visit! ❤
