Fairy DRAWING (Colour Pencil Time-lapse) 🌸 artistbybeauty

Art is a personal journey, as is life. Each person, place, and media we come into contact with can influence our approach to being creative.

When I walk on luscious green grass it makes me feel deeply connected to mother nature. Allowing positive thoughts to flow, then reflects on paper when I draw. I usually incorporate flowers or trees in my art; at times both as I love admiring nature.

Water has a refreshing effect on me. Particularly from the sea! I enjoy inhaling the wind of the sea, taking deep breaths, while appreciating the scents of salty water. Every time, without fail the ocean makes me feel free, generously healing and acknowledging my existence. Offering a chance to become one, even if it is just for a short moment.

Having been born in a country that is mostly green with beautiful forests, mountains, clear rivers and lovely wildlife, I have always been connected to nature. New Zealand is a stunning country that I will share with you the next time I travel back for a holiday and see family.

The beauty of nature is not only seen in daylight. Clear night skies where you can see the silhouette of mountains, whilst reflecting into the water of a lake, as stars shimmer and dance into the unnerving yet inviting darkness, can be just as beautiful.

I have strong faith that in each and every one of us there is a touch of love for the planet we live on, and there is curiosity for the unknown. Where there is love there is hate, where there is hope there is fear, where there is light there is darkness. It usually comes down to what we are witnessing, more importantly our own individual perspective of what we believe we are seeing.

With influences that impact us, they cause a need for our own perspective to come into place. We decide on whether we think for ourselves, how our actions may impact others, how we want to live life and that includes the way we choose to be creative.

Creativity can be cooking, baking, drawing, sewing, acting, writing and so on. Basically, bringing an idea to life. Something that you are passionate about. For me, my favourite ways to be creative are writing, drawing and painting.

I have loved telling and writing stories from a young age, beginning in the early years of school. I didn’t have many things growing up, so creating my own worlds with drawing and story-telling was a fun escape and way of life to make my dreams meet close to reality. I will forever treasure my characters and stories that I have created over the years. I am excited to be able to share them with you in the near future.

The genres my stories belong to are fantasy, horror and adventure. Some of the movies that had early influence on me are: The Never-Ending Story, Willow, Labyrinth and The Wizard of Oz. These movies are of fantasy, darkness and action. All amazing and I will forever re-watch them every year!

Anime is a huge part of my life and inspired my writing journey. Berserk (1997), HunterxHunter (2011), Slayers: The Motion Picture (1995 movie), Dragon Ball Z, Digimon (first season), Sailor Moon (1992), Clannad and Nana (plus many more greats) are anime that have contribute to my love of drawing and writing.

Music is an important part for me when it comes to both writing and drawing. My ultimate favourite music genre is classical. The sound of the piano touches and gives my soul a massive hug every time. Music has that sweet, loving, supportive ability to get you through the difficult times in life.

Fairies, mermaids and dragons are some of my favourite magical beings to draw. Today on my YouTube channel I am sharing with you one of my fairy characters. I hope you find the video fun, relaxing and that it sparks the lovable, creative soul within you.

Growth is important. This year has been challenging for me. It is good, as it makes me stronger. I am very happy to be back posting and sharing with you. I hope that 2019 has been great for you and that 2020 will be even better.

Thank you so much for reading and watching. I appreciate your thoughts, please share them below. Have a great day!

  1. Hi Capili, what a pleasant surprise seeing you posting again! I hope you are well. I look forward to seeing what you post in future and just to let you know, whenever I feel a bit low I take a look at the fabulous Obi-Wan Kenobi portrait you so kindly drew for me (and the cheetah!) and they cheer me up no end. Thanks again.

          1. Hey there, from what I have seen the situation was downright scary…and my thoughts are with all of you in the areas affected and the Firefighters (most of whom are volunteers from what I gather). My uncle was a firefighter for the Royal Air Force and so I have great respect for the Emergency Services.
And I have had a nice quiet Christmas thanks, I managed to avoid the First Order and all the Stormtroopers!

          2. Yes, it was very scary ❤️ Wow that’s so cool that your uncle was a firefighter. Its such a dangerous job but we need them. I’m glad your Christmas was good. Mine was good too. Not long until 2020 now, we are almost there 😊 x x

          3. Hi there, yes my uncle was a hero, during the late 70’s the Fire Brigade had a strike in the UK and the firefighters of the RAF were drafted in as cover. My uncle was one of those firemen and unfortunately was involved in a horrific accident in a high rise tower block. He was caught in a “Backdraft” and seriously burned, he survived but was desk bound afterwards. He taught me to respect fire and heights.
And I hope you enjoy the New Year, I’ll join you in 2020 as soon as I can…as you get to celebrate it about 12 hours before me here!

          4. Wow that’s incredible dear ❤️ Your uncle is amazing! Firefighters really are great heroes of our world. Yes, people do need to be more careful when it comes to fire. It spreads so fast. Aww thank you. Wishing you happiness and a great successful 2020 😊 It’s just over 2 hours until the New Year here in Sydney x x
