Creating art is a great way to relax and come up with ideas for future projects. Art does not have to be perfect. It can be as simple as scribbling using a pen or a doing quick sketch with a pencil.
You do not have to be an artist to draw or paint. Its good to challenge yourself to try new things and who knows, maybe you will pick up some different skills, and discover a new passion.
Colouring books are a lovely way to start getting creative. We all coloured in pictures when we were children and loved it back then, so why not give it a go now. Colouring books are not just for children, they are for adults too and can help reduce stress.
Art always helps me de-stress and relax, especially after a long day of work. I love to draw everyday, even if it is for only 10 minutes. I will draw whatever I feel like drawing in the moment. At times I have challenged myself to draw the first thing I see, making a quick sketch.
Each month I like to reflect on my art skills and list what I would like to work on next. It has been things such as: focusing on drawing hands for a week, working with a paint palette of colours that is not of my usual taste, and playing with art medias that I do not like to use.
I am currently learning to better my skills with watercolours. I haven’t really used watercolour paints before. The palette I am using is of an affordable brand. I wanted to purchase a simple watercolour palette to play with first, to see if I enjoy the media.
So far I have been having fun mixing and creating colours. It does take a lot of time to build up, especially comparing watercolour paints to acrylics. I still prefer using acrylic paints as I get a joy out of thick textures and brush strokes. Acrylics are easier to control, well at least for me.
I have been having trouble lightening the colours when mixing with the white shade in the watercolour palette. It does not work well.
This is ok as I do not mind creating practice pieces that are brighter than usual. It can look beautiful. Plus it is good every now and then to use a different tone range of colours than what I usually work with (which is pastel tones).
I guess everything happens for a reason and it all works out in the end, so it is good to keep playing with watercolours and do my best to get better at it.
I recently did an art livestream on my Twitch channel painting with my first watercolour palette. Creative livestreams are always fun to do. I enjoy answering questions about art and creating art in front of people.
Art is something that we can all appreciate. It is a form of expression and passion for the things in life that we enjoy or may be experiencing. Definitely try drawing or painting when you get the chance. Art is life and life is art.
Thank you so much for reading and watching. Have a great day!

I love coloring in coloring books! I don’t have a lot of experience in watercolors but in hs I painted and liked to draw. Every once in awhile I pick up drawing again but I don’t dedicate nearly enough time to it so my skills don’t improve. Your art on the other hand is fantastic!
