A good foundation is key to having a long lasting makeup look.
Foundation is what evens out skin tone, covering up flaws, and importantly giving a natural skin tone. It is a must that your foundation matches the rest of your body.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Acne Fighting Foundation – I purchased this foundation for $13 AUD online (you can view my e.l.f. haul here). With a rating of 4.1 stars out of 5, I thought I would give it a try.
The packaging, and foundation bottle is lovely. On the back of the packaging it states that this foundation is lightweight, helps with disguising redness, blemishes, and uneven skin tone. All things that I look for in a foundation, which is good.
The foundation is 36 ml. I chose the lightest foundation colour Porcelain. My skin is quite light.
Here I am without makeup. As you can see my skin tone is uneven. There is redness, and blemishes. The heat here in Australia really opens the pores, so I have to keep well hydrated (when I lived in New Zealand, the weather was much cooler there. My skin was clearer over there, as pores do not open as much in cooler environments).
I applied e.l.f Face Primer first (see review here). When I first opened the foundation bottle it gave me a fright, as it makes a clicking sound. I thought it was broken, but thats just the sound it makes when unwinding it.
Using my bdellium tools foundation brush, I only had to apply a small amount. The foundation bottle is quite solid, and you have to turn it upside, then squeeze it to get the foundation out. This must be done with care, otherwise you may squeeze too much, and it will be a waste of product.
I only applied one layer. I am very impressed. The foundation is light in weight, it does not feel like I am wearing any makeup. When I go to touch my face it is really smooth, and does not come off easily.
Since it is a lightweight foundation it obviously will not cover harsh belmishes. Thats ok though. You can always add a little concealer where required. I am quite happy wearing this foundation on its own, as everyday makeup with a little mascara, and lip gloss.
Overall I am very happy with this foundation. As I am a huge fan of bb creams since they are lightweight, I love this foundation as it is also light in weight.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know your thoughts, or what your favourite foundation is, will be great to hear.
