Sailor Moon and Sacred – MANGA re-reads

Who doesn’t love stories of mystery and magic?

I know that I cannot resist a good read, especially when it comes to fantasy. I usually read a manga or comic just before bed, while having a green tea >^.^<

If your not sure what manga is, its basically a Japanese style comic.

Both ‘Sailor Moon’ and ‘Sacred’ are favourites of mine. I am currently re-reading both.

I’m sure you are aware of Sailor Moon as it is also a very popular anime. Sailor Moon is one of the first anime’s I watched on television and inspired me at a young age to start drawing manga. It’s basically a story about a girl named Usagi (Sailor Moon), and other girls who become her friends. Eventually finding out that they are more than just girls at school or better yet, human, as they are not from earth.

The manga by Naoko Takeuchi emphasises on the power of friendship which I love. Each of the girls have unique powers, and their own fun personalities. Their transformations into Sailor Scouts are awesome. I myself when I was a kid would pretend with my friends that we were Sailor Scouts, my favourite being Sailor Mercury (I love to cosplay her!).

Sailor Moon is such a sweet, fun, and happy manga. I recommend that everyone should read it!

Sacred is a manga which I finally bought a month or two ago. I was meaning to buy it ages ago, just was a little unsure on shipping as it is published in the US, and I live in Sydney, Australia >^.^<

I am currently re-reading volume 1. I have volume 2 (just need to buy volumes 3 and 4). This manga revolves around a wizard named Cecero (he’s such a cutie). He is 16 years old living in a dorm with his best friend Sheko (also a cutie). This manga involves magic, has some comedy moments, is mysterious which I love, and has a dark element to it.

I highly recommend this manga, the artwork is beautiful, and the story is very interesting. Story and artwork is created, and self published by Lizbeth R. Jimenez. Just visit www.sacredthemanga.com where you can view the first 3 chapters to get a taste.

I hope you enjoyed this little update on what I’m re-reading. I plan to post some previews of my own artwork this month.

Thank you so much for reading, have an amazing day!
